The fungal gap report
Fungi make up an entire kingdom of life, yet they remain overlooked in science, conservation, and funding. The Fungal Gap is our movement to change that - gathering voices, data, and stories to show why fungi deserve urgent recognition.
As part of this project, The Culturing Dish is in collaboration with Mycosphaera and welcoming contributions from anyone working with fungi. We want to document both the barriers and the breakthroughs in funding: stories of rejection and resilience, as well as moments when support has made real change possible. Your reflections will help us build a collective picture of the “funding gap” and why fungi urgently need greater recognition.
You can remain anonymous if you choose, and your input will feed into the Fungal Gap Report, which will be shared openly to inform funders, policymakers, and the wider public.
