MYCO NETWOrK MEET-UPS

Myco Network Meet-Ups connect mushroom enthusiasts, scientists, cultivators, and creatives from all backgrounds to break down barriers, spark collaboration, and grow a thriving, localized fungal community.

Myco Network Meet-Ups are completely free to attend, and our team works entirely on a volunteer basis to organize them. We believe community spaces should be accessible to everyone. However, running a national network isn't entirely free. If you want to support the Myco Network Meet-Ups and keep them free of charge consider donating a fungi related item for our silent auction!

Popping the Myco-Bubbles

Even people deeply involved in mycology constantly meet others who interact with fungi in ways they have never heard of before. Mycology, often seen as a tiny niche, actually offers countless opportunities to engage and be inspired. As interest in fungi grows, the ways people interact with them multiply, and the fringes of the community are constantly expanding.

Yet, even in this exciting playground full of wonders, it can get lonely. Whether you are always working with the same people on the same project, struggling to find others who share your specific niche, or simply lacking a place to ask questions, it is all too easy to wind up in isolated "myco-bubbles." This makes it incredibly difficult to break out or peek into other worlds of mycology.

The Myco-Meetups are here to pop those bubbles and connect people from all backgrounds. While we might not all share the exact same specific interests, those interests often intersect in fascinating ways—and that is where the magic happens.

Cultivating Regular Meetups

We are currently working establishing Myco Network Meet-ups on a regular, recurring basis, creating a reliable space for people to gather and be inspired.

We are taking everything we learn from organizing these events—along with your valuable feedback—to build a robust support system for anyone who wants to start a meetup in their own town, city, or region.

We are here to support local communities by providing all of our resources entirely free of charge:

  • Organizational Solutions: Real-world fixes to common event-planning challenges.

  • Legal & Structural Frameworks: Navigating the logistics safely and smoothly.

  • Creative Approaches: Ideas for engaging workshops and activities.

  • Organizer Networks: Connecting hosts from across the country to exchange tips and strategies.

If you want to get involved hosting or organizing Myco Network Meet-Ups in new places or support existing ones, get in touch with us via hello@theculturingdish.org

Community & Inclusivity

We are a diverse community, and everyone is welcome here. Whether you are deeply involved in mycology on a day-to-day basis or are currently just curious about fungi.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination. A person's level of knowledge, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, or background is never a reason to mistreat them, and such behavior is not tolerated.

Need to report an incident?

If you witness or experience exclusionary behavior, please speak up or contact one of the organizers so we can handle the situation. You can also safely report incidents anonymously via our Anonymous Feedback Form.
