Our Commitment

The Culturing Dish is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and professionally run space for people engaging with fungi across research, culture, practice, and creativity.

This Code of Conduct applies to all Culturing Dish events and activities, whether online or in person, including lectures, workshops, discussion sessions, social gatherings, and associated communication spaces.

We expect all participants, including attendees, speakers, volunteers, organisers, and partners, to contribute to an environment rooted in respect, curiosity, and constructive exchange.

Expected Behaviour

Participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect and professionalism.

  • Engage in discussion thoughtfully and allow space for diverse perspectives and levels of experience.

  • Follow the guidance of organisers and moderators.

  • Respect privacy and obtain consent before sharing personal information.

  • Contribute to an atmosphere that supports learning and collaboration.

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Harassment, intimidation, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.

  • Offensive, threatening, or exclusionary language or conduct.

  • Unwelcome sexual attention or behaviour.

  • Deliberate disruption of sessions or obstruction of participation.

  • Recording, distributing, or publishing event content without permission.

  • Attempting to access restricted information, materials, or event spaces without authorisation.

Recording and Intellectual Property

Some sessions may be recorded for internal documentation or educational dissemination.

By attending or speaking at a Culturing Dish event, you consent to being recorded unless otherwise agreed in advance.

All recordings, slides, and materials remain the intellectual property of their creators unless formally transferred. Distribution outside the event context requires permission. Copyright and attribution must be respected at all times.
